Yo, just wanted to share that Go! Comi started releasing their original English language game, Dragon Academy.
http://www.gocomi.co...sub=da_overview
You gotta register to check it out. Seems like their service is online only, no need for downloads as the game is played through the website. Right now a free prologue and chapter one are up. Alas the site is pretty barebones and doesn't have a good story description, or any character profiles yet, so jumping right into the free prologue chapter is the only way to see what it's all about...
Anyways, I don't have time to try it right now, but I'll come back later and post impressions when I get the chance. Here's hoping it's good, lol. And if you try it, feel free to share your thoughts.

It looks interesting. I've played the prologue, and it is very short. I'm looking forward to more of the game. though I don't know if I can buy it. T_T credit cards= I have none.
I gotta mention that the two guys on the site is cute. ^^ Especially the red headed guy. xD

Okay, so I'm back. Couldn't contain my curiousity so I went ahead and bought the first episode. But before going into that... Yeah I gotta agree with the prologue being way too short. Without anything else on the website it probably isn't gonna do much of a good job of getting people to try the first episode.
As for the first episode... it was made up of two chapters and was a relatively speedy play. Far too speedy for the $7.99 price tag, in my opinion. Without getting into too many details... your character is riding a train to a town called Wildbad, where the academy is, and you meet Sef (the dark haired guy on the website) on the train after seeing a mysterious being outside the window. After reaching the town, you meet Max (the red haired guy on the website) and he and Sef have a little scuffle. There were plenty of choices to make which can net you one of two different outcomes, but it's a cliffhanger ending... So I can't comment deeply on the story when we're just barely scratching the surface.
And as for their online flash app for playing the game... on my computer the ending song and video don't sync up. I ended up closing the prologue when it hit a black screen that played some music, assuming it was over. I had to play it again from the start, and leave the window open long enough for the ending video to start and finish, in order to make a save file to use for episode 1. So yeah... if anyone else has that problem, be sure to wait before closing it. Otherwise its pretty good and works as expected.
It feels like the story is headed in a cool direction, the writing is pretty good, the guys are cute, and the graphics are well done. But for the price and length of the episode, it's a little hard to swallow. I'm not really used to episodic game releases like this, but I'll probably keep buying new episodes to support them. I gotta give them a thumbs up for trying something new, but they really need to offer more bang for your buck if they want to keep buyers who are on edge around for the long haul.

So, I tried out the prologue too. No money yet, and I kind of want to wait a bit before paying for it anyway.... I want to hear what people have to say, and if there is a decent story besides the "date a guy" concept :P
They even say "season 1", so I guess it could drag on for a long while. But I'm definitely interested.
The art looks neat so far. Except for the main character :/ Both on the picture in the menu and her small portrait pictures, I find her very lacking compared to the guys - or is it just me?
Then I looked at the staff page. Whoa, one of those girls looks young O_O I wonder how they got into that business, hmm...... :P

I dunno, I'm kind of turned off at the main character being referred to as 'You' - I take one look at her portrait and my mind instantly rebels, going 'I don't look anything like her!'
The story does look interesting, yes... But I'm not very willingly to pay for a incomplete game so far.

Just tried the Prologue... I have to say, the game was very well-illustrated. The background, the character's pose (they even had a pose just for when the Uncle was holding the letter...), and the small changes in CG scenes (the Uncle's last scene).
The game mechanism seems to be good as well. It's pretty much the same ADV with an extra 'emotion' label applied to the answers... but I think it's a good approach to get people who've never played otome games before to play this. Some otome games I've played seemed to be quite ambiguous in what sort of tone the answer was supposed to be said (anger, indifference, jealousy etc).
...now if only they extended the same care and attention to the main character's design... looking at her character portrait bugged me so much x_X

Hmm... I'm not that excited about the art (maybe I'm comparing to that *_*-ly Kanuchi Shiroki Tsubasa no Shou).
And the payment schedule is a bit weird. I don't think people would be enticed to make many payments.
